Seven Year Cycles — Jone Victoria — April 15, 2009

We’ve all heard that our body chemistry changes every seven years. Did you know in Astrology that seven year cycles exist as well?

In the early 1970’s, I met Benjamin Priest. He was my first official astrology teacher. Ben, a graduate of M.I.T., possessed an incredible mind for detail in his work and teachings, and was an original thinker.

Ben taught us to unravel the mysteries of algorithms, and clarified what the vibrations of planets, constellations, asteroids, and satellites meant to us in a symbolic way. as we searched for guidance to navigate our journey on planet Earth.

I’d like to share notes from that class and the conditions by which the planets influence our years.

AGE

1 – 7   Moon:  emotional, self-centered

7 – 14  Mercury:  learning, communicating, school

14 – 21  Venus:  first love, puberty, adolescent vagaries

21 – 28  Sun:  goals, first real job, finish school

28 – 35  Mars:  work, busy, responsibility

35 – 42  Venus:  second fling, mellowing, dissatisfied

42 – 49  Mars:  work, security, college, anger

49 -56  Jupiter:  mellow, journeys, second honeymoon

56 – 63  Saturn:  retirement, security, hard work, responsibility

63 – 70  Uranus:  outlook changes, creative, unusual

70 – 77  Neptune:  vague, dreamy, reminiscent

77 – 84  Pluto:  religious, higher mind, philosophical

84 – 91  Moon:  emotional, past, easily upset

91 – 98  Jupiter:  longest journey, death

One day I was lying out in my backyard, catching some rays, and I was given an unusual but beautiful vision of a round structure, with plenty of large windows to let the light shine in. Attached by a hallway was another round structure. It was rather like a home symbolizing the mother, the umbilical cord being the walkway, and the smaller round structure symbolizing a child. I immediately thought of Ben.

Upon phoning him I asked what he was doing now, as we had lost touch throughout the years. Seven to be exact. Ben informed me that he was designing a home that he planned to build. I interrupted him saying, I’ve seen it. He asked me to describe what I saw and confirmed the images of his new home. We were both amazed at this impromptu telekinetic connection. Laughing, he promised to send me the plans. True to his word, I have them still, filed next to the hundreds of notes I took in his class.

As Jone has written there are seven year cycles in astrology — Saturn completes one cycle of the Zodiac in 28 to 30 years — seven years for each quarter — Uranus completes one sign of the Zodiac in seven years, taking 84 years (often considered a full life span)  to complete one revolution of the entire Zodiac. These are just some of the timekeepers we use in astrology. One of the most dramatic times is when Uranus is opposite its natal position at approximately age 42, many people find there is some adjustment they hadn’t expected that they must make. Jupiter is in each sign for one year — taking 12 years to return to its natal position in one’s chart, and coordinating with the Chinese Zodiac of 12 animal signs. Most strongly felt is the Saturn return at about age 28 – 30, having had Saturn in each quadrant of the chart has brought lessons to be learned in each area of the chart. One is changed (or should be) at the age of 30 in so many ways, if one hasn’t taken in the lessons of Saturn, there will be more and perhaps harsher lessons to be garnered. Each period of our lives should be one of growth and evolution, we are here to learn, to be honed, and to understand our being. We have an amazing chance to become more than the sum of our parts — indeed, we can rise to the heights of humanities most worthy.

Hello world!

This site will bring you some interesting and timely posts about what is going on in the Heavens — I love studying astrology, and I enjoy passing on the information I have gleaned from the moving planets in aspect to the sun and moon and each other.  Even if you feel this kind of post isn’t for you — if you give it a try, you might find it amusing, informative, downright accurate, or just a good way to pass a couple of lazy minutes on your computer.

I have found over the years that much of what goes on in the ether does affect the happenings here on planet Earth — much depends on the sign you were born under and what aspects are in your own personal natal chart.  You can get your natal chart free from many sites on the internet — and learning where your sun and moon are located, along with the sign that was rising at the time of your birth will give you a heads up as to what cycle you are now going through.

There are many cycles that the planets bring to us, Saturn, for instance (I call it the “learning” planet — has a cycle of approximately 28 to 30 years) — by the time we are 30 we have experienced the planets influence in each house of our natal chart.  It’s no wonder that the Hippies of the 60’s quipped “Don’t trust anyone over 30” — we are changed because of our having been through the many and varied, sometimes difficult lessons of Saturn throughout our charts.

Also there is a magnificent opposition from the planet Uranus at age 42 (give or take a year) that challenges us — can we say “mid-life crisis”?  This year is often fraught with changes that we might be less that anxious to have happen.  Yet the planet Uranus doesn’t bring a change unless it is going to build us a newer and stronger foundation.  It is part of the building blocks of our journey throughout this lifetimes path.

We can accept and grow with the help of the Universal forces, or we can challenge the energies and find ourselves at odds with our true and natural path.  In astrology there is a saying “As above — so below” … this doesn’t mean we have no free will — it only shows us that by following the natural harmony of the galaxy, we can flourish and meet all of our expectations — or we can rale against the forces and be held accountable in many formidable ways.  The stars may impel, but they do not compel any actions or beliefs.

The world is our oyster, there is so much for the taking, so much beauty, knowledge, fun and happiness to be garnered from our lifetime here, if we but choose to be aware and partake of its bounty.

I hope you will join me in opening up the mysteries and secrets of the Universe as we all travel on this tiny blue planet called Earth — it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to get it right, we have the choice, the right, and the means to become our best selves, and to find our place in the Universe.  Lets all gear up and promise ourselves we will choose to become the ultimate human being we are meant to be — awesomeness is an option — let it be you!

Welcome fellow searchers for the truth — it is out there…
